If you ask Columbus Jews about what makes Tifereth Israel great, you’re sure to hear about our amazing teen and youth programs. BuckUSY, our USY chapter, is a large, vibrant, dynamic group of teens who learn and practice Jewish leadership together. The congregation recognizes that its future depends on the engagement of young people, and that starts with an exciting and enriching youth group.
Throughout the year, special events, Shabbat and Holiday programs and services, off-site trips, and other opportunities for fun are offered to first through twelfth graders.
Our youth director, Morgan Levin, is a fun and passionate organizer of all sorts of programs, from trips to Cedar Point to hamentaschen baking to social-action Shabbats. She is most proud of her ability to inspire and empower our teens to show real Jewish leadership. Dozens of Tifereth Israel teens, and even some from other synagogues that don’t have youth groups, join us for our awesome teen activities.
Of course, in addition to BuckUSY, which begins in high school, we also have programs like Kadima and Chaverim, youth group activities for younger kids.
An active Youth Commission - made up of parents from the congregation - help to guide the development of our youth department, and Tifereth israel's children reap the rewards.
