Zot Torat Ha-olah – Studying Torah should burn like a fire.
Rabbi Levi Itzik of Berditchev
We believe in Torah study that ignites our souls. At Tifereth Israel, we take learning seriously. For the young and the old, for the broken and the whole, for those who are experienced learners and those who are new to the world of Jewish learning, we have a place for you.
In our community, you will find meaningful learning that will inspire, challenge, and move you. We believe that the Torah is not a static document, but is a living, growing tree of Jewish knowledge and experience that can reach each of us in places of real meaning. It’s not only texts – we teach music, life skills (like how to celebrate Jewish holidays in your homes in ways that are meaningful and exciting), and personal growth.
Whether children learning in our Samuel M. Melton Religious School, teens learning in our Hebrew High School, or adults learning through Makom, you’ll always find Torah here that really means something. Torah that is joyous, accessible, engaging, and deep.
You can find Torah here outside of the classroom or beit midrash, too. Whether it is learning from our rabbis’ sermons (and – we are really proud of this – our clergy are widely reputed as fantastic and inspiring teachers), or checking out all the wonderful Torah we share on our Facebook page (really!), or just speaking informally to each other about our lives, you’ll find yourself enriched with Torah and Jewish learning at Tifereth Israel.
