Haftarah Trope Lessons
by Cantor Jack Chomsky
Dear
Friend:
One of
the most exciting things that you can do in Synagogue is be a leader – lead
services, or chant from the Torah or Haftarah (frequently misspelled Haftorah) portions.
Thanks
to the technology available to us today, I have many synagogue skills CDs
available for you to raise your voice and raise your sights! In addition,
we have begun to make some of these recordings available through our website.
If you
download the two practice sheets and play the lessons below, you’ll be able to
learn how to chant a Haftarah! The colors are important – so either follow
along on your computer screen, or print them out in color – or send me an e-mail
at
CantorJC@aol.com and I will send you a color copy of the sheets!
One
important tip – you won’t learn this by listening. You’ve got to sing, too!
Good luck – and let us know how we can make this work even better for you.
Sincerely,
Cantor
Jack Chomsky
